Queen Victoria’s Victorian Type Hands Calling Card Tray or Soap Dish w/ Gold Accent
This is a ceramic-type material tray that copies the Westmoreland tray or card holder known as “Queen Victoria’s Hands”. The original (Not this one!) was patented in 1875 and made by Atterbury after 1881. My version here differs primarily in the material used.
The lovely Victorian type hands can be used to hold soap, small hand towels, business cards, jewelry, trinkets, candy, etc. This would make a great housewarming, holiday, or hospitality gift, especially if filled with any of those possibilities.
DIMENSIONS: Approximately 6 ¾ inches end-to-end and 5 inches between thumbs.
COLOR: Cream or Antique white, with gold as an accent on the leaves surrounding the grape cluster
CONDITION: Excellent. No chips, cracks, crazing or repairs, though there is a rough edge on the bottom base with a tiny nick on the rim. Nice Victorian appearance.
